in the past, the only way to get to ntu if u commute via train is to take 179 from boon lay mrt.

then came 179a, which bypass the residential bus stops, kinda like an express service to ntu.

then came the mrt extension, making it possible to alight at pioneer station to take 179 or 179a.

then ntu started this free shuttle service to pioneer mrt.

very much symbolizes the progress from pre-modernity to modernity to post modernity.

more choices seem to be a good thing.. or is it?
