hey.. u dun have to feel apologetic for anything.. the contrast makes the blog more interesting to read.. and at least they have a choice! like if they feel like being serious they can read the blue posts and if they wanna relax they can read the pink/ purple ones..
i personally find yours more interesting....

hihi raymond! can readers make a request? ur shade of blue on this black background has got not enoug contrast. a bit difficult to read since ur font is so small. can do something abt it?
